AVAYA IP Office is a very good PBX available. I like it very much but the problem I met to is missing the Phone Manager application for my linux desktop.
There is no official documentation about the protocols AVAYA IP Office so I ran sniffer and after some hours got a brief understanding
of how this stuff works.
WARNING: I could understand only 10% of traffic between PhoneManager and base unit! I don't know what the data at the unknown fields does! Run it at your own risk and backup often.
If you need beautiful and stable program, run Phonemanager.exe under Wine. I used it for a long time but it slows down my machine up to 1/3
and it is closed source :-)
All the programs uses the phoneavay.ini file, where user name and password should be valid. You should change them at first.
Two programs available at the moment:
- dial.pl - performs search at userlist and dials the phone number
- sniff_replies.pl - establesh connection with IPO and then dumps the status of phone
You can use any of them absolutely free.
One file I used to sniff the traffic, and it is for developers only:
- sniff.pl - sniff port 50796/upd
